classes
Stress managment - Yoga is a wonderful
tool!
Stress
management and self-discovery have become the primary focus of
Andrea's Yoga teaching. By guiding students through gentle
movement and restorative Yoga postures and the basic aspects
of Yoga practice, they discover healthy ways of
reducing stress and enhancing well-being. Personal
experience with and dissertation work on stress, coping and
connections between the mind and disease, have led her to
reaffirm the immense value of and need for gentle and
restorative Yoga as well as the practice of Yoga Nidra. Andrea
loves sharing these practices and teaching/reaffirming the
basics via her Level I class. The Restore and Renew are
taught Friday and Sunday evenings.

Updating your reality map: Stress reduction
introduction
Experience the empowerment that comes
from re-connecting with your inner resources! Our internal
“map of reality” influences how we respond to stress. We each process
information in unique ways to create that map and it
influences how we feel, act and react. Tapping into our
processes with ancient wisdom, coaching techniques and guided
relaxation allows us to update our maps, tap into inner
resources and reduce stress. Easy to follow
exercises and tools help you turn chaos into
contentment.

The Map is Not the Territory: July 26,
2008 at Village GreenYoga
Have
you ever been to a party and observed the same event as a
friend but both of you have very different
impressions of the event? We each
process information in a unique way to create a “map of
reality” that in turn influences how we feel, act and react.
Our internal “map of reality” influences how we respond to
stress. It plays
a big role in our relationships, how we set our selves up for
success or sabotage ourselves. It influences every aspect of
our journey!
Much of our “map” operates
unconsciously until we become aware of it and evaluate how
well it is serving us. By being aware of our “maps”, we can
update the ones that no longer serve us, creating new paths
and choices to facilitate our journey.
Tapping into our processes with ancient
wisdom, coaching techniques, guided relaxation and
self-hypnosis allows us to update our maps, tap into inner
resources, reduce stress and find new paths to the life we
want.
Experience the deep relaxation and
empowerment that comes from re-connecting with your inner
resources following an introduction to the workings of the
conscious and unconscious minds. This workshop
provides you with easy to follow exercises and tools help you
update your reality map and allow you to explore new
territory!

From Stress to Santosha (Private
classes)
In Sanscrit, the word
"santosha" refers to seeking and finding contentment, not just
in the "good" or pleasureable aspects of life but during the
challenges and stresses as well. Ancient writings around
santosha invite us to experience success and failure, pleasure
or sorrow with unshakable equanimity.
Stress and how we cope with it
greatly influences our health and well-being. Ancient
traditions undertsood this and developed philosphies and
techniques for diffusing stress and turning it into unshakable
equanimity. Modern sciences and psychological thought
around the mind-body-spirit triad have begun to "discover",
validate and confirm what the ancients found long
ago.
Aspects of psychology, medical
scienc, self-hyposis and performance coaching techniques are
linked with traditional Yoga and ancient Hawiian Huna in this
unique and life shifting class.
Discover for yourself how you can go from stress to
santosha!
